I am a certified Peter Hess® Sound Massage Practitioner, KliK® Children’s Educator and a registered Blue Health Coach®.

As a Blue Health Coach, I explore the relationship between our inner world and the environments around us — especially the world’s beautiful blue spaces. It’s about noticing the “space between” these worlds through play, curiosity, awe and wonder.

We are fluid beings who crave fluid experiences. Learning to ebb and flow with the changing situations around us is a skill that supports us through every stage of life. When we explore the analogue, textural world with a sense of play, we also grow our ability to meet uncertainty with ease.

We can never be fully certain of what the Ocean will greet us with - that is why it's been one of my biggest teachers.

That's what I like about sound too - it drifts. It's able to take you on an unplanned journey. A bit like when you hear a new song that twists in a way that completely delights all your senses. You can mentally float away during a sound relaxation session while feeling completely grounded at the same time.

When we spend time in nature - we have a soft fascination. We see birds or butterflies fluttering from here to there, wind creates ripples over water, a seagull may sound - none of this is serious business - it softly grabs our attention. That's how we can leave the work behind for a bit.

Water is one of our greatest teachers. She’s soft and malleable, not rigid or systematic like the responsibilities and routines we follow each day. She’s transient, changeable.

My fascination with sound and atmosphere started early. I grew up loving tap dancing — feeling vibrations travel from my feet through my whole body. When travelling, I’d choose forests with howler monkeys over city sightseeing because those natural soundscapes changed how I felt.

I now enjoy as much water time as possible - surfing, freediving and kayaking on the magnificent coastline of East Australia.

Rhythm is everywhere.

WHAT WE AIM FOR AS BLUE HEALTH COACHES

  • Honouring the importance of healthy ecosystems — including recognising that we are part of nature, not separate from it.

  • Being aware of the ripple effects of our behaviour and the impact it can have on the world around us.

  • Acknowledging the experiences that stir our senses and understanding that emotions are energy in motion — they need space to move.

  • Understanding that things are cyclical — there are waves in everything we experience.

  • Becoming eco-centric, not ego-centric.

  • Recognising the power of resonance — one of the most important things we can bring to a conversation, meeting or shared space.

Soundwaves Noosa is based on the lands and waters of the Gubbi Gubbi people, the Traditional Custodians of this Country.

We acknowledge their deep and continuing connection to Country, waterways and the natural world, and pay our respects to Elders past and present.

We recognise that these lands and waters have been cared for, known and understood for thousands of generations — and that there is much we can learn from this enduring relationship with Country.
